Outdoor Christmas Tree Lighting Brings the Community Together

St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center held its annual outdoor Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 6:00 PM, and the event brought the community together in record numbers.

The Community Outreach Program organized the Christmas Tree Lighting in partnership with Smithtown High School West DECA And Smithtown West High School Honor Society. The ceremony began with the beautiful sounds of Smithtown resident and St. Anthony’s High School student Caitlin Bierne, followed by performances from Smithtown East Nesaquake Kickline, Smithtown East Junior Varsity  Kickline, Smithtown Varsity Kickline, and The Smithtown Middle School Brass Brand Ensemble.

The Smithtown Fire Department joined the community celebration and brought the most important guest, Santa. Attendees were given the opportunity to take a photo with Santa, and enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies and festive music from Smithtown West High School Business Teacher Phil Como.
