Girl Scout Troop 1781 Bring the Sounds of the Season
Have a holly, jolly Christmas—that was the sentiments and sounds of local Girl Scout Troop#1781 as they strolled units at St. Catherine of Siena’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center in Smithtown. Adorned with Santa hats, the girl scouts sang holiday favorites while they delivered gifts to the residents that they compiled and curated with the seniors in mind. The bags were filled with crossword puzzles and other engaging activities for the residents to do this holiday season.
“It was so nice to have the girls here, they were so festive and brought joy to our long-term and short-term residents,” said Director of Therapeutic Recreation Mary Sue Schulz. “It was a pleasure to have them, and we hope to have them again next year.”
